I've been making
photographs for around 30 years, the past decade or so as a full-time
professional. I enjoy a variety of subject matter: travel, people,
tabletop, home furnishings, jewelry… I'm well versed in film
and digital, in formats from 35mm to 8x10. I like to play and experiment
using Holgas, a Polaroid SX70, Polaroid transfers, etc.
I try to keep things clean, simple, and spontaneous. I love natural light — it's the real deal. So even in the studio, my goal is to emulate the quality & feel of natural light. My work is about capturing a moment, a mood, a feeling. Composition and mood are more important to me than the technology involved. Technology is only a tool, a means to an end. The result is what matters, not how you got there. I love working in this field. Collaborating with other talented people is exciting to me. It gives me energy, lets me keep learning.
